Flipboard enables iPad users to tap into a new multi-media experience.
Lexus is known for putting advanced technology into motion, for combining power and grace to create a uniquely personal driving experience that is, quite literally, moving. Therefore, it makes sense that Lexus would choose one of the world’s most advanced communications platforms to stay in touch with automotive enthusiasts.
Beginning in October, Lexus will use Flipboard, the “world’s first social magazine,” to launch its new advertising campaign in the pages of Bon Appétit, The New Yorker and Wired.
The Flipboard app for the Apple iPad collects popular news sources—especially the ones you choose—as well as updates to your Twitter and Facebook accounts, and transforms them into a magazine style format on your iPad.
Flip through the pages on Flipboard as easily as a conventional magazine; when you tap an advertisement that piques your interest, it delivers you to the brand's website or Facebook page..
"At Lexus, we strive to remain at the forefront of technology, whether in how we design our vehicles or how we communicate with consumers," states Dave Nordstrom, Vice President of Marketing for Lexus. "This new Flipboard integration will enable us to connect with our audience, and their lifestyles, in a creative way."
Even the biggest fan of social media may feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of updates and the amount of information offered on different platforms. The genius of Flipboard is that it automatically collects posts, blogs, videos and updates from friends and other sources, and reformats them into a colorful, browsable, easy-to-read e-magazine.
Because only a limited number of ad pages are available in Flipboard magazines, advertisers such as Lexus derive greater benefit from their advertisements. At the same time, the ads present readers with valuable information in an exciting, new interactive format that generates interest and encourages relationships with brand loyalists.
Flipboard was developed for the iPad in partnership with the Condé Nast family of publications, which also includes such excellent magazines as Vogue, GQ, Allure, Architectural Digest, Details, Golf Digest, Vanity Fair and Condé Nast Traveler.
“Condé Nast continues to create new experiences for their content that also brings new reach to their advertisers. We are excited to be a part of this overarching strategy and bring their amazing stories, images, publications and advertisers to readers on Flipboard,” said Mike McCue, CEO of Flipboard.
Watch for the Lexus ads on Flipboard, coming this October.
